Muscle pain is a common problem that is considered minor by many people. It is often overlooked and considered common. Most people think this condition will disappear when brought to rest.

Aches usually occur in daily activities. Excessive physical activity, intense activities without warming up, even sitting or standing in the wrong position, can trigger aches.

However, in reality, there are many cases showing that muscle aches and pains do not immediately disappear even after a long rest. Without even realizing it, this muscle pain begins to develop into a muscle injury.

According to PHRM Indonesia data for the period 2021-2023, clients who suffer from this prolonged muscle pain without realizing have a mild muscle injury or grade I. Although it seems mild, it still requires proper attention and treatment so as not to lead to more serious consequences.

Symptoms of Grade I Muscle Injury

  • Pain or Discomfort: A sensation of pain or discomfort in the muscles that may appear after physical activity or the muscles are overloaded and then begin to interfere with body movement.
  • Muscle Stiffness: Muscles feel stiff and difficult to move freely. Sometimes it is also overlooked because it is thought to be just aches or just a sore throat.
  • Mild Swelling : Sometimes, soreness may be accompanied by mild swelling in the affected muscle area due to micro tears in the muscle.

Treatment and Prevention

  • Rest : In a sore condition, sufficient rest time is needed for the sore muscles to recover.
  • Warm up and Cool Down : Warm up before physical activity and cool down after doing it. This can help to prevent the appearance of soreness.
  • Drink Enough Water: Keeping the body hydrated is very important to prevent muscle stiffness.
  • Use of cold or hot compresses: Using cold or hot compresses can help relieve pain and reduce the swelling that occurs.
  • Massage and stretching: Gentle massage and stretching can help reduce muscle stiffness and improve blood circulation.

PHRM Indonesia as a muscle specialist, can help reduce muscle tension due to aches. By using a combined massage method, massage time is shorter and pressure points have been proven effective on thousands of patients. Aches can also be overcome.
